In Minnesota, we don’t just survive the winter, we thrive. As you look ahead to your college journey, know that a campus visit can provide exciting insights into what it might be like to become a Golden Gopher. With this in mind, we would like to invite you to visit us for our President’s Day Hygge Visits on Monday, February 17. The Danish concept of “hygge” (pronounced hoo-gah) refers to the ritual of embracing life’s simple pleasures. Feeling relaxed, cozy and surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, community and fire, all encompass the idea of hygge. When you book your visit, you’ll spend a couple of hours exploring the University of Minnesota campus, visit with admissions counselors and tour guides, and get answers to questions about the college process, major options, housing opportunities, and next steps. In addition to the above, we will be hosting an information resource fair at Coffman Memorial Union where you can meet with each of our colleges to learn more about your major options. Additionally, while in Coffman Union, you can take a sneak peek at Gopher life with Goldy’s Gameroom, the Gopher Express cafeteria, and our bookstore; all while learning about major options from all eight of our freshman and transfer admitting colleges. And best of all, you’ll get the chance to connect with students like you over tasty beverages (hello, hot cocoa)!
During your visit, you’ll be led by our U of M tour guides - current students at the University who can’t wait to answer all your questions and share their experiences! Our admissions counselors will share their knowledge on our U of M majors, undergraduate research programs, student life, and study abroad opportunities. Please contact the Visit Office at 612-625-0000 or admissions@umn.edu |
